Berkeley Heights Public Library will show the foreign comedy "The Concert" on Thursday, August 18 at 7 p.m. as part of its Summer International Film Festival. Thirty years ago, Andrei Filipov was the conductor of theillustrious Bolshoi orchestra until he was fired for using Jewishmusicians. Now he works as a janitor and drinks too much. But when heintercepts an invitation for the Bolshoi to perform in Paris, Andreimasterminds a plan to gather his own Bolshoi to go in their place. With amotley bunch of former musicians at his side, Andrei sets off forParis. Along the way, he will reunite with a young, beautiful violinvirtuoso who holds the key to his past and to his future. 119 minutes.
