The Berkeley Heights Volunteer Rescue Squad has partnered with GreenForest Technologies in an ongoing fundraiser. Two bright red bins have been placed in the parking lot of the Rescue Squad (located at the corner of Snyder and Locust avenues) to collect donations of clothing and shoes.
Last year the Rescue Squad responded to more than 750 calls for the residents of Berkeley Heights and neighboring towns. The squad kept its doors open for any resident who needed a place to stay or access to the internet during Super Storm Sandy.
The BHVRS is staffed 100 percent by volunteers and relies heavily on the generosity of the residents of Berkeley Heights to support its mission through donations. Chief Bill Schulz stated, “We are constantly on the lookout for new ways to raise funds so that we may continue to serve the community. GreenForest Technologies provided us with a way to raise additional funds.” If the citizens of Berkeley Heights respond and place their clothing donations in the bins at the Rescue Squad, this fundraiser will help all of us for many years to come.
