The Berkeley Heights YMCA is offering many new classes and workshops for youngsters this fall and winter.
Here's a chance to learn yoga, meditation and fencing and see if you like them.
An Intro to Fencing Workshop will be offered from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 6, for children from ages 6 to 12.
Learn basic skills and moves used in fencing matches, as well as the different weapons, basic footwork and fencing terms.
There are a limited number of spaces available.
Middle School Meditation will be offered from 4:30 to 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 8 and on Tuesday, Dec. 6. It is open to all middle schoolers.
Meditation improves focus, helps you relax and is a great way to de-stress. You can also learn how to regulate your emotions and more.
Drop-in yoga classes will be offered to two different age groups.
Cosmic Yoga, will be offered to youngsters from age 7 to 10, from 4:30 to 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov.15.
Middle School Yoga is offered to ages 11 to 14 from 4:30 to 5:15 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 18.
Yoga is a great way for kids and teens to develop focus, relax their minds and build strength.
Many weekly classes are also offered including Zumba, Drama, and Parent and Child classes.
These classes will be held at the Berkeley Heights YMCA, 550 Springfield Ave., Berkeley Heights.
