BERKLEY HIEGHTS, NJ - On Saturday morning, Dec. 15, Santa left the North Pole and came down south to visit children at a well-attended event at the Berkeley Heights YMCA.

The YMCA provided a light breakfast, arts and crafts and balloon making for the children.  The event concluded with the children meeting Santa and receiving a gift from him.

Executive Director Tiffany Escott said it’s a lot of fun and seeing the youngsters get all excited and read Santa their wish lists is great.

Chris Lawlor brought her two daughters to see Santa for the first time and said they had a blast. The girls attend classes at the Y and Lawlor said the YMCA is an excellent place for young children to learn and grow.

Warren resident Sheri Sennello brought her son Michael to see Santa for the first time, as well. It made his day, Sennello said.

“I thought it was a great event,” she said. “They should do it every year.”
