PISCATAWAY, NJ - The Berkeley Heights Youth Soccer Club (BHYSC) Boys U11 Celtic travel soccer team kicked off their fall season by winning their flight of the Piscataway 37th Annual Fall Classic Soccer Tourament on September 9-10.
Celtic compiled a 3-0-1 record while scoring 12 goals and only giving up three. Their last match was especially tough, after going down 2-0 early in the game, they fought back to win their division.
Giancarlo Guadagnino and Zachary Geertsma were recognized with sportsmanship awards from their opposing teams.
A total of 211 teams competed this past weekend from all over Central New Jersey. The BHYSC came out in large numbers with 17 teams participating in the tournament. Players ranged in age from 8 to 14 years. The Fall Classic is said to be the oldest and largest tournament that weekend in New Jersey,
Members of the BHYSC organized the "Home Base" tent where teams, parents and spectators could convene in between games with water and snacks supplied by the team parents.
