Their lifestyle was lavish, their tastes, expensive.

Money didn’t stand in the way of their desires, according to Bodnar.

During a visit to Disney World in Florida, the wife admired a tapestry hanging on the wall inside Cinderella's Castle. Wanting to please his wife, the husband asked if it were for sale; he was told no, to which he responded, “Name a price,”according to Bodnar.

He was told $5,000. “Fine, pack it up, I’ll take it home,” Bodnar related.

That tapestry is one of thousands of items from furniture and designer clothes to art glass and a massive collection of high-fashion footwear that will be sold at no-reserve at Bodnar’s auction, Saturday, June 24 at the New Jersey Convention & Expo Center, 97 Sunfield Ave., Edison. Doors open at 9:30 a.m.

Bodnar estimates the value of the home furnishings at $500,000; the jewelry, $200,000 and the contents of the closets, primarily women’s high fashion clothing and shoes, $150,000-$200,000.

“Some things, she wore it once, and that was it,” Bodnar said.

Auctioneers will sell over 3,000 lots to the highest bidders.

Those interested in viewing the contents of the estate and/or interested in bidding can attend a preview Friday night from 6-9 p.m. A short preview will be held Saturday at 9:30 a.m., preceding the auction.

Several lots of fine jewelry will be sold, including a 3.96-carat diamond ring and a Van Cleef 6-carat diamond bracelet.
