Thomas Jefferson once described Lake George as "without comparison, the most beautiful water I ever saw." This thirty two mile village with a lake by the same name is just over a three hour drive from New York City, making it an easy escape from the city for a few days. Here are some of the best resorts and hotels in the Lake George Area.

Blue Lagoon Resort

Not only is the Blue Lagoon Resort family friendly, it is a kid's paradise. The entire family will enjoy waking up to a view of the lake as they eat breakfast. If you visit during the off season, most of the restaurants will be closed. You can enjoy cooking together in the kitchenettes that are in each room. During the day, enjoy a nice walk on the sandy beaches. If your children are not swimming, they can also have fun building sand castles or burying each other or their parents in the sand. For the convenience of today, the resort has wifi as well.

Tiki Resort

While this is likely the most unique and cultural experiences your family can have in the Lake George area, it will only be enjoyable for older kids and adults. There are nightly events, such as karaoke and a Polynesian ceremony. The architecture is created in a Polynesian style, and the rooms are clean. Service is prompt and friendly. There is a bar onsite, as well as breakfast and dinner time.

The Sagamore Resort

The Sagamore Resort is a fantastic way to wind down a vacation through the Adirondack Mountains. The view is stunning, and if you have a boat enthusiast in the family, this is a popular spot for many different types of boars to sail through. In fact, if you do not wish to eat on the resort, your family can take a boat across the lake to one of the seafood restaurants on the other side. This resort is one of the top luxury vacation spots, and it is a favorite amongst the owners of the mansions on the western side of Lake George.

While there are chain hotels on and around Lake George, it is not recommended to stay at just another boring inn. You and your family work hard all year round. Treat yourself to something unique that the whole family can enjoy.

You Want a Check for How Much!
