BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ - The Governor Livingston Boys Lacrosse team defeated the Lenape Valley Thursday afternoon, 8-6.

The Highlander offense was led by Junior Jon Wong who scored four goals and assisted two others. He lead the team with eight ground balls. When asked about his performance Jon was quick to give credit to the team.

"It was a great team effort. We really put it all together and had a complete game for our first win of the season," Wong stated, "The team competed really hard every single minute of the game."

Governor Livingston's Doug Anderson finished with two goals, while Matt Dlugosz and Will Nicholson netted one goal apiece. Manoli Kanellos had six saves in net for the Highlanders.

Head coach Chet Parlavecchio was pleased with his team's performance this early in the season.

"The team competed real hard yesterday and were able to grind out a good win," Parlavecchio said, "I was very proud of how hard we played, we played with a lot of effort."

The Highlanders look to build on this win on the road Saturday, April 9 against the Roxbury Gaels.
