SOMERSET HILLS NJ - Jon Bramnick represents the Somerset Hills in the State Assembly, and over the years he has earned a reputation as a good lawyer and legislator. He also has a well-known sense of humor. In fact, he holds the title "Funniest Lawyer in New Jersey" after winning contests sponsored by the bar association at Rascals Comedy Club.
On Tuesday December 6, at 7:30 Bramnick will join some comedic heavy hitters at the Stress Factory Comedy Club in New Brunswick to raise money for the Boys and Girls Clubs of America. The event is called "Joe Piscopo Presents A Night to Benefit the Boys and Girls Clubs of America". Proceeds from the show will go to the Boys and Girls Clubs.
Comedian Joe Piscopo will headline the event. Also appearing will be Bramnick, Bill Spadea from NJ 101.5 and Chasing News, and comedians Jay Black, Chip Chantry and Vinnie Brand.
Bramnick has performed comedy to benefit non-profits in the past, but this is the first time that he has raised money for the Boys and Girls Clubs. "This was Joe Piscopo's idea," said Bramnick. "Joe is a fried of mine, as is Vinny Brand, the owner of the Stress Factory. Joe invited me to join the show."
When asked about Piscopo, Bramnick said, "He's a superstar that I have always been a fan of. I am honored to appear on the same stage."
Bramnick had a sense of humor when he was asked about opening up for a performer as well known as Joe Piscopo. "Look, I've opened up for Governor Codey in the past. This will be a little more challenging than that." he quipped.
The Stress Factory is located at 90 Church Street in New Brunswick. The doors will open at 5:30 for the 7:30 show. Tickets are $35.00.
