SUMMIT, NJ - The Spizzwinks(?), a renown a capella group from Yale University, will headline the next installment of the St. John’s Summit Concert Series’ (SJSCS) fourth season on March 4, beginning at 3 p.m.
The Spizzwinks(?) follow in the footsteps of their contemporaries at Yale, the Baker’s Dozen, who performed in the Hilltop City as part of the SJSCS’s second season. Their setlist is expected to be as varied as the personalities of the young men themselves. Post-concert, the audience is invited to attend a reception.
First started in 1914, The Spizzwinks(?) are the oldest underclassman a capella group, combining youth, comedy, and talent in their performances. In their more than 100-year history, they have performed on six continents, delighting audiences of all ages. Their performances are noted for their eclectic mix of songs from different genres and styles, as evidenced by their audiences, which have included former U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry and Lady Gaga.
The trip to New Jersey will be a homecoming for three of the ‘Winks, as TanTan Wang (Warren), Jake Gluckman (Millburn), and Dennis Brookner (Bridgewater) all hail from the Garden State.
Tickets are priced at $30, $20 for children 12 and younger, and can be purchased by visiting sjscs.org.
