CHATHAM, NJ - Chatham Borough Mayor Bruce Harris has been contacted by the Chatham Post Office to set up a meeting date to discuss complaints by residents about mail delivery.

"A representative of the Post Office has contacted us to set up a meeting," Harris said. "We haven't confirmed a date yet.

"There have been a number of complaints about mail delivery since early November. I have had problems myself with late deliveries and lost mail, and deliveries to the Borough have had problems. I contacted Congressman Frelinghuysen, and his office has been trying to deal with the issues. Steve (Williams, borough administrator) spoke to the postmaster and was told they are having staffing issues due to retirements. Hopefully in our meeting, we'll find out what their plans are to rectify the situation."

Residents of both Chatham Borough and Chatham Township have been complaining of not receiving mail in a timely manner.
