The music and personalities of the great Broadway composers including Gershwin, Rodgers, Kern, Berlin and Porter will be brought to life when pianist and speaker Nina Deutsch takes center stage on Sunday, June 27 at 2 p.m at the Berkeley Heights Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
This program is free and open to the public, and will include classic favorites such as Someone to Watch Over Me, Embraceable You, Always, and many others. Deutsch will share interesting biographical details about the composers, and the audience is invited to sing along. A graduate of Juilliard and Yale, Deutsch was the first American artist to perform all American music in the People's Republic of China.
Due to space limitations at the library, this program will be held at Berkeley Heights Nursing and Rehabilitation Center at 35 Cottage Street in Berkeley Heights. This program is funded by the Horizons Speakers Bureau of the New Jersey Council for the Humanities, a state partner of the National Endowment for the Humanities.
