WASHINGTON, D.C. --- Congressman Leonard Lance (NJ-07) this week welcomed Mesothelioma advocates John and Bonnie Anderson of Berkeley Heights to discuss the initiatives Lance has taken and is working on in Congress to develop cures and treatments for the disease.

Lance was one of the leading lawmakers behind the 21st Century Cures Act which passed Congress last year that boosts federal research funds and eases the ability to bring new cures to the market.

The Andersons were in town as members of the Mesothelioma Applied Research Foundation, a  nonprofit collaboration of patients and families, physicians, advocates, and researchers dedicated to eradicating the life-ending and vicious effects of mesothelioma.
