GILLETTE, NJ - On October 4, 2015, the Long Hill Township Public Library will host a premiere viewing of the documentary, “Dan Hsu, a Lifelong Journey through Art.”

The film beautifully documents Professor Hsu’s artistic achievements and endeavors to meld Eastern and Western painting styles.  His unique perspectives reflected his extensive travel and immigrating to the United States in 1985.  While residing in his adopted homeland, Dan Hsu became an ambassador of Chinese culture.  His painting lessons, exhibitions, demonstrations, and lectures acquainted many people with Chinese Art and its two thousand year old tradition.

For the last fourteen years of his life, Professor Hsu resided in Long Hill Township, New Jersey.  The township is home to the Great Swamp National Wildlife Refuge and extensive protected wetlands along the Passaic River which delineate the township’s western and southern boundaries.  While living in close proximity to nature Dan Hsu was a prolific painter. His paintings are currently in the permanent collections of private individuals and museums worldwide.  In both, the Long Hill Township Municipal Building and the Public Library there is a painting by Professor Hsu on permanent display.
