Dawne Hausman of Summit, NJ, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 2, 2016 at the age of 51.
Dawne will be remembered for her bright smile and generous spirit. She enthusiastically embraced everyone she met, whether through volunteering with her children’s activities in the PTO, coaching the Girls on the Run Summit NJ chapter and Summit Soccer Club teams or sharing her knowledge and wisdom with anxious new parents. Co-Founder of The Savvy Parent, Dawne loved teaching children life skills, utilizing her educational background to develop positive experiences for youth in the community. She had a knack for making whoever she was with feel special, important and valued, positively impacting children and adults alike.
First and foremost, Dawne loved being a mom to her cherished children, Davis, Nicholas and Lindsay, and a wife to her beloved husband of 19 years Andrew, who were the light of her life.
Born in Point Pleasant, N.J., Dawne has been a longtime resident of Summit. She achieved a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from Bucknell University and a Master of Science in Education from the University of Pennsylvania.
In addition to Andrew, Davis, Nicholas and Lindsay, Dawne is survived by her parents Irving Quackenboss and Arleen Seamon, step-mother Norma Quackenboss and mother and father-in-law Lois and Craig Hausman. She was the dear sister of Todd, Heather, Heidi and Darla and sister-in-law of John and Kristen. Dawne is also survived by a host of loving nieces, nephews, family, friends and her dog Bandit.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service on Tuesday, September 6, at 3 p.m., at the Central Presbyterian Church, 70 Maple Street in Summit. Burial will take place privately.
