On March 10 and 11, 2017, New Providence High School will perform the iconic Rodgers & Hammerstein classic, The Sound of Music.  Director Craig Duke, musical director Pamela Crockett, and choreographer Leslie Ditta are leading an enthusiastic and talented cast to bring to life a production which will continue the tradition of excellence for which the New Providence High School drama and music departments are known.

In Rogers and Hammerstein’s final collaboration, when a postulant proves too high-spirited for the religious life, she is dispatched to serve as governess for the seven children of a widowed naval captain.  Her growing rapport with the children, coupled with her generosity of spirit, gradually captures the heart of the captain, they fall in love and marry, and ultimately, the family flees Austria by foot over the Swiss Alps on the eve of World War II in this powerful story of the triumph of love.

Save the date to join the NPHS cast for this inspirational production on March 10 (7:30 p.m.) or March 11 (2 p.m. or 7:30 p.m.).  Tickets go on sale on February 13!
