CREAM RIDGE, NJ — Tulip lovers don't have to book a trip to the Netherlands to enjoy the stunning sight of rows and rows of the colorful spring flower. A day trip to Holland Ridge Farms on Rues Road can do the trick. The 153 acre farm features row after row of majestic tulips to the delight of visitors. This year's tulips at Holland Ridge Farm are currently in full bloom and have taken center stage at the farm's annual Tulip Festival.

The farm is now open seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Visitors can savor the sight of the tulips standing at attention, pick a bouquet of tulips and have fun exploring the farms other attractions. Pick-your-own-tulips are $1 each while the rest of the attractions like the popular hayrides are included in the entrance fee. The farm also features a Hollandwood Theatre, an Animal Crackers Barn and a Good ol' Days Museum. More activities like the hay maze and pony rides are available on weekends than weekdays, but the crowds are definitely lighter on a Monday through Friday visit.

Purchasing tickets online are slightly cheaper. Weekend tickets at the farm are $12 for adults, $10 for seniors and $8 for children from three years of age to 12. Weekday tickets purchased at the ticket booth are $10 for adults, $8 for seniors and $6 for children ages three to 12. Online tickets purchased ahead of time are less expensive than online tickets booked the same day. The ticket booth closes at 5 p.m. though visitors can enjoy the tulip fields until 6 p.m.

Parking is free and Holland Ridge Farms has a Tulip Cafe as well as various food trucks and a Bakery Barn. More varied food truck selection is available during the weekend. Outside food and drinks are not allowed into the farm.

Holland Ridge Farms boasts 200 different kinds of tulips and hosts the largest tulip celebration on the East Coast. The farm hosted its first Tulip Festival last spring and also holds a Sunflower Festival in the fall.
