BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ - 52nd Street Band made a special fall visit to Berkeley Heights on Friday after their summer engagement at the Berkeley Heights Summer Concerts in the Park was rained out twice.
Instead of the usual Memorial Park venue, the concert was moved to The Grove in the heart of Connell Corporate Park in their amphitheater. When the amphitheater isn't used for seating for a show, the community can enjoy the waterfall that cascades over the stone steps.
On Friday evening, the crowd traded in their lawn chairs and frisbees and bundled up with blankets and gloves to enjoy the crisp fall evening on the steps to enjoy the sounds of Billy Joel. Free popcorn and water were offered by Taylor Rental and Smith Chirpopractic and the Grain and Cane Gastro truck was serving out their Oktoberfest menu.
After the show, many guests stopped by Grain & Cane restaurant to enjoy their new fall menu.
The free concerts are presented by the Recreation Commission's Special Events Committee and through the partnership with the Berkeley Heights Business and Civic Community are brought to the community through their season long sponsors: Berkeley Aquatic Club, Taylor Rental, Rotary Club of Berkeley Heights, Smith Chiropractic Foundation and Grain & Cane Gastro truck.
