BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ - Mary Kay McMillin ECC students and families were treated to a night of live music, food and fun at the annual "Music Fest" featuring the premier children's band, The Fuzzy Lemons, on Friday, May 29 at the school's outdoor theater. [Originally intended for Thursday evening, the school postponed the event to Friday due to inclement weather.]
The end-of-year Music Fest offers Mary Kay McMillin ECC students and their families the opportunity to rock out to musical entertainment, said PTO Committee Chair Julie Nelson.
The PTO arranges for pizza delivery and offers snacks and even gave a souvenir which was guaranteed to bring a smile to each child's face, Nelson added.
This year the PTO brought Hoboken's premier children's band, The Fuzzy Lemons, to Berkeley Heights. The band offers a compilation of their own tunes along with covers from bands such as The Beatles.
With over 300 people pre-registered for the event, it was a beautiful night and a huge success, said Nelson.
The Fuzzy Lemons are made up of a diverse group of musicians who are also parents and child educators themselves. The “Lemons” have been making their own brand of music for the past seven years. At any given show you can expect laugh-out-loud lyrics and memorable melodies, where every song tells a story and every show is full of infectious energy.
