Choristers and college alumni choristers from the Grace Church School choirs will present a short, family-friendly concert at 7 p.m. Friday June 29 at Grace Church, 4 Madison Ave. at Kings Rd.  Admission is by non-perishable food item or small monetary donation to benefit the Morristown Community Soup Kitchen.

The singers, ages 7-20 have voted on their favorite anthems which include composers from Bach to Papoulis, Gospel tunes to Irish prayers. The informal concert will take place in the air-conditioned, beautiful acoustics of the church. The teen a capella groups the Gargoyles (guys) and Daughters of Zion (girls) will also perform.

The Gargoyles and Daughters of Zion will also be performing at Madison’s Relay for Life June 23, as well as many members of the Grace Choir team, who will sing “Every Candle Has a Name” at 9 p.m. as part of the American Cancer Society event.

Dr. Anne Matlack, celebrating her 20th year at Grace, holds a B.A. in Music from Yale University, and a M.M. and D.M.A. in Choral Conducting from University of Cincinnati College - Conservatory of Music. As well as serving as Organist & Choirmaster at Grace Church, she conducts the acclaimed Harmonium Choral Society. Grace Church’s choir program explores all styles of high quality music in a liturgical worship setting and follows Royal School of Church Music standards.
