BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ - In a close match for the Gov. Livingston boys fencing team last Tuesday at home, it came down to the final bout when senior epee fencer Louis Cantor delivered the winning touches to cement GL's 14-13 victory. While the girls were handed their first season loss.

Gov Livingston and Morris Hills were within 1 or 2 points of each other for all three rounds.  The teams went into the final bout tied at 13-13.  Foil fencers led the way during the match with 7 wins, 2 losses; Tyler Man and Alton Grossman both won all three of their bouts.  The epee squad went 4-5, and sabres 3-6.  

Gov. Livingston girls got off to a slow start with Morris Hills, but managed to narrow the lead, losing by just one point.  This match ends their 7-game winning streak since the start of the season.  GL's sabre squad led the way during the match with seven wins, two losses; Heather Januzzi won all three of her bouts and Chrissy Drobish won both of hers.  GL epees went 5-4.  But Morris Hills had a strong foil squad that went 8-1 against the Highlanders.
