College summer baseball is once again coming to Central Jersey. The Jersey Pilots will be opening up starting this June every Thursday and Sunday evening, except Father's Day week, at Snyder Field in Berkeley Heights.
Mike Cranston (Adelphi) is returning from last year. Adding to the Pilots roster are Bill Worswick (Rowan), Tyler Martis (Sienna) and John Jennnings (Rutgers). These players all are past Governer Livingston players.
This is the 40th year that the Pilots have been in New Jersey. During that period over 200 players have moved on to professional baseball -- 18 played in the Major Leagues.
Owner Ben Smookler, a resident of Berkeley Heights, plans to make a commitment of family entertainment, free clinics for area youth groups and promotions. Any group interested in sponsoring an event call: 908-391-6922 or 908-464-8042.
