BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ - Funeral services will take place Monday, Jan. 4  for Vito Mondelli, 84, a life-long resident of Berkeley Heights who died peacefully at home on Tuesday, Dec. 29.

Vito's services are being arranged by Paul Ippolito Memorial at 646 Springfield Ave., Berkeley Heights. The full obituary can be found at

Visitation will be at the funeral home on Sunday, Jan. 3 from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. The funeral will take place on Monday, Jan. 4, at 10 a.m. at Church of the Little Flower, 290 Plainfield Ave., Berkeley Heights. Interment to follow in St. Mary’s Stony Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Berkeley Heights Volunteer Rescue Squad. 

Vito, the owner of Vito Mondelli’s Nursery in Berkeley Heights, “loved people and his customers," and they loved him back. The outpouring of love and admiration has been witnessed through adoring posts on social media -- “the heart of Berkeley Heights” will be missed. 

Vito was predeceased by his beloved wife Pauline and son Robert Mondelli and his siblings: Louis and Daniel Mondelli, Theresa Kmit and Carmel Winouski. He is survived by a host of loving nieces and nephews.
