BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ - Members of Girl Scout Troop 40254 met with Mayor Robert Woodruff before the Township Council meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 6.

Troop members are working on their Government badge, so they talked to the mayor and learned how the township government works. After their meeting, they stayed for part of the Township Council's meeting.

Woodruff said he asked the Girl Scouts to think about the Winter Walk and give him some suggestions on how to make the successful event even better. As they left their private meeting with him, he said he got the first suggestion from the girls, who told him, "We want more snow globes."

That comment brought a laugh from the council and audience. One of the Winter Walk organizers who was in the audience said the committee would take their suggestion under advisement when planning next year's event.
