There’s never been a better time to feel connected to your community, to give back and make a difference in your own “backyard.”  Togetherhood™ is the Y’s new community service program that invites members to plan and participate in volunteer projects that benefit our community.

The launch of the first Togetherhood™ project in 2016 at the Summit Senior Housing complex was a success, with over 60 volunteers donating their time as they led 65 resident seniors in activities that included bingo, a magic show, pet therapy, health screenings, exercise, live music and dancing, and a healthy cooking demonstration.

Come join us for one of the following planning meetings are at the Summit YMCA from 6-7 PM:   February 8, March 8, April 5,  May 10, June 14, July 12, August 9, September 13, October 11, November 8, and December 13.

“The Togetherhood program is a great way for Y members to become more socially responsibility by participating in the Y’s cause to strengthen our community. It’s a great way for families and people of all ages to help strengthen the community through personally rewarding projects. We had volunteers that ranged from 7 to 70 years old!” said Patty Facchinei, Volunteer Coordinator at the Summit YMCA, a branch of the Summit Area YMCA.
