UNION COUNTY, NJ - Gov. Livingston seniors Isabella Bjorkeson and Alex Boyd were award recipients at the 37th annual Scholar-Athlete Dinner for the Union County Interscholastic Athletic Conference on Wednesday evening at the Westwood in Garwood.
"Through a lengthy and thorough selection process involving our coaching staff, 2015 GLHS scholarship committee and administration, Isabella and Alex were selected to be our Scholar Athlete Award winners for the Union County Interscholastic Athletic Conference," said Gov. Livingston Athletic Director Ann Clifton.
"Our entire Athletic Department is very proud of Isabella's and Alex's academic achievements and proven leadership abilities within our high school community," said Clifton. "They are the true representation of a Scholar Athlete. They have left a legacy of commitment to excellence that our younger student athletes will work to emulate in the during their own high school careers. We wish them both success in all their future endeavors."
Bjorkeson, will attend Bucknell University in the fall and signed a letter of intent to compete compete in track and field at the college level. She will double major in Mechanical Engineering and Engineering Management.
Boyd led the varsity lacrosse and football team as co-captain his senior year. He will attend Georgetown University in the fall.
