BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ - The Governor Livingston Highlander baseball teams took a swing at cancer on May 6 by holding a "Hit-A-Thon" to raise money for the John Theurer Cancer Center at Hackensack University Medical Center.

The Hit-A-Thon raised $2,000.

"We have great kids on this team and they were excited about the competition, but they were even more excited about helping a great cause," head coach Chris Roof said.  "Our community really stepped up and contributed."

The GL baseball team continues it's season Friday at Scotch Plains and Saturday at Snyder Field against Rahway.
