BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ - Gov. Livingston Girls soccer advances to the semi-final round of the NJSIAA State playoffs with a win on Thursday against Morris Hills. Gov. Livingston played a hard fought game in the rain to beat Morris Hills 1-0. 

Coming out of a scoreless first half, Gov. Livingston dominated the second half showing their skill and teamwork. GL senior Lauren Jankowski scored the only goal of the game off of a cross from Isa Bjorkeson with 27:47 remaining in the game.

Morris Hills made an attempt to gain control by playing phyicial and getting called on their fouls with a yellow card in the final seconds of the game.

Skill and determination prevailed as Gov. Livingston stayed in the battle focused on the win. GL goalie Olivia Emanuel recorded the shut out with 5 saves.

GL Captain Lauren Jankowski credits the win as a team effort. She looks forward to the next round against West Essex on Monday, Nov. 11.
