BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ - Gov. Livingston TREND Club members recently spent their morning participating in “Sticker Shock”, a program designed to deter persons of legal drinking age from purchasing alcohol for minors. The students placed 2,000 bright yellow decals on cases of beer in local liquor stores.
The stickers remind those of legal drinking age of the penalties (six months in jail and $1,000 fine) if they are convicted of purchasing alcohol for minors.
This Nation-wide Alcohol Awareness program was sponsored the Berkeley Heights and Mountainside Municipal Alliances, in cooperation with the Berkeley Heights and Mountainside Police Departments, Prevention Links and the Governor Livingston High School TREND Club.
