Gov. Livington's Snyder, Haddad Take 1st in County Wrestling Tournament

UNION, NJ - Junior James Snyder and senior Quinn Haddad each took home gold medals Saturday in the Union County Wrestling Tournament at Union High School. As a team GL finished 6th with sophomore Harrison Kelly (113 lbs), juniors David Vill (126 lbs.) and Marcelo Laygo (132 lbs) each finished 4th, and junior Greg Friedenberg (138 lbs) took 5th.

Now 17-0 on the season, Snyder defeated Elvin Guerreo (15-2) of Roselle Park in the 152 pound final by a score of 3-1.  Haddad (16-0), who finished second the past two seasons, pinned Nick Palazzolo (12-1) of Scotch Plains in the 170 pound final.
