Basking Ridge, NJ- There was a saying from Wade Boggs,
"anyone can be a Father but it takes someone special to be a Dad."
I think of my Dad almost everyday but Father's Day is a day I really reflect on him. He passed away November 1, 1999 and for the past 15 years I haven't had to buy him a gift but I do pause to honor him and the day is a reminder to be a DAD to my kids.
The Historychannel.com shares the history of Father's Day
"On July 19, 1910, the governor of the U.S. state of Washington proclaimed the nation’s first “Father’s Day.” However, it was not until 1972, 58 years after President Woodrow Wilson made Mother’s Day official, that the day became a nationwide holiday in the United States."
Happy Father's Day to all those Dads (wherever you are.)
