Jeffrey Romond, co-founder and managing partner for St. George Financial Partners, will conduct a presentation in March at the Scotch Plains Public Library on how to teach your kids about money. The talk will give parents tools they can use to help their children understand the importance of saving.
The event will be Thursday March 22 at 7 PM at the Scotch Plains Public Library, 1927 Bartle Ave. in Scotch Plains, NJ. It is free and open to the public.
“Even though the families I work with in Union County have different financial profiles, many share the same concern in that they want their children to become financially responsible,” Romond said. “Children with a basic understanding of financial matters are better equipped to manage as they mature. Since many schools do not teach these lessons, I feel it’s important to give parents the tools to do so.”
As part of his presentation, Romond will furnish families with special piggy banks that can be used to teach children the value of saving. The piggy banks have separate compartments for save, spend, donate and invest, helping children understand these fundamental principals.
Pre-registration is recommended for the event. To register, visit the Scotch Plains Public Library’s reference desk, call the library at 908.322-5007 x204 or email email@example.com. Registration is also available online at http://www.scotlib.org/sppl/events/.
