BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ - The Berkeley Heights Volunteer Rescue Squad (BHVRS) was established 74 years ago, in 1942, to provide emergency medical services to all residents of Berkeley Heights and our neighboring towns when needed. Since then BHVRS continues to be staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week solely by volunteers who live and work in and around the township. All services - whether we’re called to help any adult or child for illness or injury - are provided free of charge. We do this, almost exclusively (>95%), through your tax-deductible donations.
BHVRS membership is comprised of a diverse group of people including grandparents, high school and college students, business people, folks just like you. By joining BHVRS you’ll expand your knowledge, gain confidence, and make new friends. All this while providing a sense of security and relief to your fellow townspeople as they endure some of the most critical and frightening situations of their lives. That’s what BHVRS is here for - to help those in times of need when they aren’t able to help themselves.
Please consider volunteering your time and talents to BHVRS. All training is provided free of charge. And if you’re not interested in providing medical care consider joining our Auxiliary members who help us during our special events such as our Community CPR classes, our Relay for Life plant sale, ambulance tours at the holiday tree lighting, school events and more.
