SUMMIT, NJ - The Summit Lions Club will host their fourth annual music and entertainment fundraiser, featuring a Kentucky Derby theme, May 2 from 7 – 11 p.m., at the Summit Elks Club Lodge. All proceeds will benefit the Summit Lions' 2015-16 charitable projects.

In addition to an evening of music and dancing, the event will offer a free photo booth, with fun props where attendees can pose for photos with friends to celebrate the "Run for The Roses."
“Outrageous hats and racing silks are not required, but we can guarantee this event is going to be lots of fun, no matter what you wear,” says event coordinator and Summit Lion Janet Russell. “The Derby has so many great traditions — it’s a great theme for a party.”

The Derby Party will also include a silent auction, featuring pro sports tickets, shopping gift certificates, dinners, a wine pull, and more. A cash bar, and great, derby-worthy food will be provided at no additional cost.

As the Lions’ primary fundraiser this year, the event will help support important programs such as eye exams for Summit children and residents in need, eyeglass recycling, high school scholarships, and many other local welfare projects.

Tickets are priced at $25, and may be purchased now at summitlionsclub.org, or at the door on the night of the event. Patron sponsors for the event include Haven Savings Bank, Investors Bank, Overlook Medical Center, and Remax Achievers/The Child Group.

For more information, contact Janet Russell at 908 / 273-4270, ext. 3203, or Terri Lahr at 908 / 516-2629. The Summit Elks Lodge is located at 40 Maple Street.
