FAIRFIELD, NJ – Today, Wednesday, April 26 is American Red Cross 2017 Giving Day and Konica Minolta Business Solutions USA, Inc. has stepped forward as a community supporter.
Red Cross Giving Day is a one-day event on Wednesday, April 26, designed to rally people in New Jersey and nationwide to support the Red Cross as it meets its critical and lifesaving mission of helping families who have been affected by disaster or emergencies. Konica Minolta will match Red Cross Giving Day donations dollar for dollar up to $25,000.
"As a company, we are committed to help build a better world through the dedication of our time and resources,” said Kay Du Fernandez, vice president, Marketing, Konica Minolta. "We encourage other New Jersey businesses to participate in the American Red Cross Giving Day and join together to support local families who have been affected by tragedy and are in need."
Nearly every eight minutes, the Red Cross helps a family that may have lost everything - the roof over their heads, their clothes, their most cherished possessions - to a home fire or other disaster. Last year in New Jersey, the Red Cross responded to more than 760 home fires and provided compassionate care and emergency assistance to 1,800 displaced families. A gift to this one-day awareness effort can help provide urgent relief like shelter, food, blankets and other essentials to those devastated by disasters.
“We are thankful for Konica Minolta’s continued support of the America Red Cross mission,” said Ana Montero, CEO, American Red Cross New Jersey Region. “Each day we see New Jersey families that have been devastated by home fires and other disasters. Konica Minolta’s generous gift will help us provide help and hope to families when they need it most.”
Donations can be made now by visiting redcross.org/GivingDay/NewJersey. A $10 donation to the Red Cross can be made by texting REDCROSS to 90999. All donations will be processed on April 26, 2017.
