NEW YORK, NJ - Gov. Livingston senior Leah Saifi continues to rewrite the record books.-- breaking the Eastern States Championship pole vaulting record on Tuesday at the Armory in New York City. Leah vaulted 13’ 0.5” on her final jump of the competition, surpassing her personal best of 12' 8" set at the 2016 East Coast Relays last spring. She is currently ranked No. 8 in the nation.
Victoria Vanriele placed 2nd in the 800m, behind Lexi DelGizzo of Tenafly. Victoria ran a 2:14.45. This is the fourth time the two have competed against each other this season with Victoria winning the previous two races, including in the Meet of Champions on Sunday, February 26.
Andrew Aguilera lowered his personal best time in the 55m hurdles yet again, placing 3rd in 7.37 and is ranked No. 7 in the nation. Doug Ladinski placed 15th in the semi-final round in 7.73.
Lauren Boyd placed 10th in shot put, throwing 38-03.5, the second longest throw of her career.
The competition included competitors from throughout the Northeast.
