As the training experts with more than 25 years of experience training volunteers to successfully tutor adults, Literacy Volunteers of Union County has launched a new Professional Development Training Institute for adult educators and ESL teachers throughout New Jersey.  A wide variety of customized training programs are available through LV-UC's new Training Institute on topics ranging from Successful Strategies for Learning Disabled Students to Exploring Comprehension in Adult Literacy to Connecting Reading and Writing.

"We have already conducted very successful programs for the Essex County Literacy Consortium and Union County College," said Elizabeth Gloeggler, executive director.  "Our exceptional team of trainers has been receiving rave reviews."

The highly interactive, hands-on customized workshops are perfect for anyone who is teaching or tutoring adults.  LV-UC's expertise in working with learning-disabled adults, developing strategies to assist adult students, and using real-life materials to enhance learning are the foundation for the training programs.

Literacy Volunteers of Union County is a 25-year-old non-profit organization dedicated to recruiting, training, and supervising volunteers who tutor adults struggling to read, write and speak English.
