BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ - Berkeley Heights residents and neighbors Lauren DeNoma, who runs the dog rescue and adoption program for Best Friend Dog and Animal Adoption (BFDAAA), and Lisa Plocinski, owner and dog trainer at On the Ball Training in Berkeley Heights, joined forces to help get some rescue dogs adopted.

Plocinski opened her facility to BFDAAA and volunteers on Sunday, January 19, for potential adopters to meet the dogs currently up for adoption.

"It was very rewarding to come together with another local organization that shares the same passion for dogs and their people," Plocinski said.

In December, Plocinski held a donation drive at her Summit Avenue facility to collect food, treats, and toys for the dogs currently being fostered through Best Friend. The foster-based rescue often relies on donations from the community.

“After the donation drive, Lisa offered to open up her facility for an adoption event since the winter months make it challenging for outdoor adoption days,” DeNoma said.

The adoption event allowed families to learn more about the dogs, all who have been rescued from local shelters and are being fostered by volunteers.

Expressing the importance of this partnership, Plocinski added, "Best Friend works to bring homeless dogs together with a forever family while On the Ball helps them to live happily ever after by providing expert training assistance.

Plocinski's wish is that together both organizations can make a significant impact on the lives of the dogs and families who love them.
