NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ - A warm, sunny Sunday afternoon brought a large crowd to New Providence’s First Carrot Cake Off held outdoors at Luminous Salon and Spa at 592 Central Ave. Ten contestants signed up to participate in the carrot cake contest. Christine Morgan was thrilled with the event and the very positive response. “We set out to hold a fun community event and wound up meeting a lot of great people," said Christine Morgan. "Who would have thought that carrot cake could bring so many people together? All the cakes were so incredibly delicious, each completely unique and special. Some were really sweet, some more nutty, some with a real kick of spice, some bursting with fruit, raisins, carrots.... I really have to commend Heather Hoffman for coming up with such a fun and unique way to bring community, friends, neighbors, and our neighboring businesses together. We all met so many new people and had fun together. That was truly the best part.”
Mayor Al Morgan concurred. “New Providence is all about community and bringing people together. It was great to see and be with families and friends today. The kids especially had a really great time, which is always such a joy to see. We truly do have the best local businesses here in New Providence that continually contribute generously, and really care about our community. Thank you to Luminous for hosting such a fun event.”
