April is Environmental Awareness Month. In keeping with the theme, the League of Women Voters of Berkeley Heights, New Providence & Summit is sponsoring a program highlighting information about environmental concerns for our local area.

Doug O’Malley, Director of Environment New Jersey, will speak on our local environmental issues. He has worked on a broad array of environmental issues over the last 15 years in Trenton. His work has included campaigns to protect New Jersey’s waterways from fracking waste and clean up New Jersey’s air, building public support for the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI) to combat global warming, fast-tracking New Jersey’s clean energy economy through expansion of solar, off-shore wind and energy efficiency and fighting against the expansion of fossil fuel projects around the state.

The program will be held on Thursday, April 6th at 7:30pm at the DeCorso Community Center of New Providence, 15 East Fourth Street (908-665-0046).

This program is free and open to the public.  Light refreshments will be provided. Please visit our website at www.lwv-bhnps.org for more information regarding our events.
