SUMMIT, NJ - A significant section of Passaic Avenue, from River Road to Constantine Place, will be under construction -- and closed completely at night for an estimated nine nights -- beginning August 29. The thoroughfare will be the site of various road improvements, such as milling, paving, and striping of the road.

According to Union County, "due to the nature of the work involved, the amount of men and machinery required, full road closure will be necessary in the area of work to optimize the safety of the work crews and motoring public alike. To minimize impact on local traffic, the work will be performed overnight. The road will be closed from approximately 7 p.m. until 6 a.m. the following morning, weather permitting."

Signage placed on Passaic Avenue indicates the closure will be for six nights, however the latest information released by Union County indicates the road will be shuttered for nine nights.
