HACKETTSTOWN, NJ - Centenary College star basketball forward, Mallory George (Berkeley Heights/Gov. Livingston 2013) has been named the Colonial States Athletic Confernece Player of the Week. George a first team ALL-CSAC performer last season has been named CSAC Player of Week multiple times over her 4 year career.
The Cyclones opened the 2016/17 season with victories over Rutgers-Newark and Penn State- Abington with George leading the way by averaging 15.5 points, 11.5 rebounds, and 4.5 assists over the 2 games.
This season George, a 4 year starter will be looking to lead the Cyclones to their second consecutive winning season under new head coach Rose Haller. When all is said and done on her spectacular career she could possibly rewrite the Centenary College Women's Basketball career record book. Having already topped the 1000 point career mark last season she is chasing the Cyclones career record for games played, points, rebounds ,field goals made,free throws made, and field goal percentage. Her production as a Cyclone has been amazingly consisitent.. Since the first day she stepped on the court as a collegiate hoopster the Cyclone coaching staff could confidently count on 15 points and 10 boards a game, which is exactly what she has averaged every season as a Cyclone.
George a marketing/management major, is a member of the CSAC All- Academic team ,a Centenary Athletic Director Honor Roll student, and last year was named Centenary College female Athlete of the Year .
A 2013 graduate of Governor Livingston High School ,George was a four year varsity athlete as a member of both the basketball and cheerleading teams. She captioned both teams her senior year. She played in three consecutive Union County Girls basketball Tournament finals, winning the title her junior and senior seasons. She was a three year starter and first team All-Union County selection as a senior.
Mallory George is the daughter of Bill and Carolyn George of Berkeley Heights.
