BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ - Many students in the community, along with the kindergarten students at the Mary Kay McMillin Early Childhood Center (MKMECC), celebrated the birthday of Dr. Seuss, Read Across America Day. A highlight at MKMECC was a visit by Councilwoman Jeanne Kingsley, dressed as the Cat in the Hat, and read with the students.

Students at MKMECC joined in with an estimated 45 million students in all 50 states to celebrate Dr. Seuss's birthday and the joys of reading. The celebration was a part of a nationwide awareness program sponsored by the National Education Association (NEA), that calls for every child in every community to celebrate reading.
