BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ - Berkeley Heights has a brand-spanking new senior bus, which took to the road for the first time on Tuesday, August 21, 2018. The bus, a 2018 Ford E 450, seats 22 people and has a wheel chair lift.

At Tuesday's weekly Senior Citizens meeting at Mount Carmel Hall, Mayor Bob Woodruff pulled up in the new bus and was greeted by the seniors, who were thrilled to see the new replacement bus. The current bus was difficult for the older people to use.

The bus is used by the seniors three days a week to pick up seniors for their errands along Springfield Avenue, Senior Club meetings and social events. The seniors also plan trips outside of Berkeley Heights and even plan monthly trips to the casino. Click here to view the August Senior Bus Calendar.
