BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ - A brand new playground is being installed at Memorial Park in time for the start of the 2017 Summer Concerts in the Park that kick off on Wednesday, July 19.

The Recreation Commission received a matching grant from the Union County Kids Recreation Trust Grant through the Union County Open Space Trust Fund. The Open Space Trust fund has provided more than $17 million in matching grants since its inception in 2000 to build new or improve playgrounds, plant trees, pocket parks, recreational areas, playing fields, pools, picnic areas and much more.

The playground equipment is currently being assembled and a ribbon cutting will be scheduled upon completion and installation of fence.
