BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ - The Township Council is getting word out about a Tuesday, June 16 public meeting where professionals will take residents through the due diligence of the municipal redevelopment project. The meeting will be held at the Gov. Livingston High School auditorium located at 175 Watchung Blvd. in Berkeley Heights at 7 p.m.

The presentations will include a comprehensive review of the analysis and research that has been done. Each property involved will be discussed: what it would look like; what is the impact; and what are cost estimates associated with each scenario. 

The multi-part meeting will address each property individually.

  • Park Avenue Property 
    • Redevelopment review of executed surveys.
      • Size of the property.
      • Relationship to neighboring properties.
      • Existing conditions of the property; such as, wetlands and environmental. 
    • Redevelopment limited to Park Avenue only.
      • Can an expansion of the existing buildings fit the current needs?  
      • Alternatively, if the township were to build new --  present the footprint of what would be included, where would it be located, and impact on parking.  
  • If real estate transaction takes place with the Hamilton Avenue property, what are the different scenarios available to the township relating to costs and benefits of each one. 
    • If municipal complex is developed at Hamilton Avenue, what are the options of development at Park Avenue
    • If municipal complex is developed at Park Avenue, what are the options of development at Hamilton Avenue
  • Professionals' recommendation to the community.
  • ​Question and Answer session allowing the community the opportunity to ask questions to the professionals.​
