NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ - An auto accident on South Street in the Murray Hill section shortly after 4:30 p.m. Monday was causing traffic delays through downtown.

The accident, in which a vehicle reportedly struck a utility pole, happened near the intersection of South Street and Southgate just a few blocks from the Murray Hill train station.

Fire companies from New Providence and Berkeley Heights were on the scene, and at least one occupant in the vehicle is trapped inside the car with injuries of unknown severity.
