NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ - The Asbury Fever Springsteen Tribute Band was forced inside the Recreation center for the second consecutive year by threats of thunderstorms, but once again they attracted nearly one hundred residents who congregated inside the gym to hear the 7-piece band perform music by Bruce Springsteen, Billy Joel and Southside Johnny.

The first Family Fun Night of the summer managed to be a big success with residents of all ages filling the gym Thursday night to dance along to “Glory Days,” “Dancing in the Dark,” and “We’re Having a Party.”  Many stood up to dance and sing along with the band. There was also a face painter and a magician entertaining the younger kids.

Next Thursday, July 20, Cindy Gelormini will sing Country, Blues and Rock and July 27, The Kootz will perform. On August 1, members of the public are invited to join the New Providence Police, Fire, Emergency Medical Services and Lions Club as they host National Night Out, an event that showcases the importance of emergency services and their relationship with the community. The Elefante Band will perform that evening.
