PLAINFIELD, NJ - The New Jersey State Police Trooper Youth Week is an educational program that presents simulated law enforcement programs for both male and female students who have completed their junior year and are entering their senior year of high school.

The first Trooper Youth Week summer program was in 1965 when the New Jersey State Police saw an opportunity to develop a program to attract high school students to the New Jersey State Police.  Current summer programs contain core components that had been featured in that initial one.

The 2017 activities will include lectures and presentations covering many facets of police work and criminal justice. Participants will experience a disciplined environment, including military drill in combination with structured fast moving programs of classroom activities, lectures, films, practical exercises and physical training, simulating the NJSP recruit training experience.
