At the beginning of the season, the New Jersey Intergenerational Orchestra (NJIO) will hold two open house rehearsals onThursdays, Sept. 7 and 14. Musicians of all ages and abilities are welcome to join one or all of our orchestras during these rehearsals.

It’s the start of a new concert period and the music is new to everyone. Come get the feel of the orchestra and see why the musicians love being a part of the NJIO family! Prelude Ensemble, an ensemble intended for beginning strings, rehearses 4:30-5:30 pm.  Intermezzo Orchestra, an intermediate-level full symphony orchestra (strings, winds, brass, and percussion), rehearses from 5:45-7:00 pm and Symphony Orchestra, the more advanced symphony orchestra, rehearses from 7:15-9:30 pm.

The rehearsals take place at 570 Central Avenue in New Providence, at the New Jersey Youth Symphony Music Center. For more information, visit the website at
